5:00 PM Science
I have almost finished reading Capra's "The Hidden Connections". I now have a much better sense of the current advances in microbiology as well as genetic engineering.
9:30 PM Life
Most of the day was spent on various small activities related to the backyard. I had to buy a set of drill bits for making the holes in a couple of 6x6 beams that would hold some metal bars for suspending bird feeders. I then had to buy 3 more metal bars. Fortunately this all worked out rather well. We now have a set of 4 bars, each of which will hold 2 feeders, and they can all be easily moved onto our cement pad for the winter. This has the important advantage that all of the shells and seeds will land on the pad and can be easily cleaned up when spring comes.
I also levelled one are of the dirt in the far corner so we are now ready to order the stones for the pathway as soon as the dirt in the lane is hauled away (Hopefully Tuesday).
I also bought a litre of cedar stain to refinish the fence in the backyard. We apparently have a week of very good weather ahead so we may be able to complete the project before the snow flies.
I then relaxed in the evening and watched the 5th DVD of "The Prisoner".
