I have completed maintenance on CN 428453, a 40' steel boxcar, classified for shipping grain. This involved adding 2 washers at one end and one washer at the other end in order to lift the couplers to the proper height. I also glued a new brake wheel to one end. This car is now operational. The data base has been updated and the car is now classified as "operational".

Two more cars are now operational. CN 665489, a 40' flatcar was checked for both coupler height and operation as well as wheel rolling. It seemed to be fine. I did add an end stirrup that was missing.

CN 493528 had a tendency to lean to one side. This turned out to be a quick fix - I pushed down the plug that was holding the trucks on one end and this firmed up the stability.

CP 269334, a Canadian Pacific Railway boxcar, had a drooping coupler at one end. This was another quick fix - the base of the coupler frame was loose. A couple of turns of a screw tightened this up nicely. The data base has been updated for all three cars.

CN 78213, a caboose, was having trouble with the coupler at one end. Examination indicated two problems: the coupler was drooping (this was a result of the metal base of the coupler frame being bent) and the coupler was slightly lower than the standard height. I straightened the metal base and added a washer to adjust the height.

CN 552942, a 50' double door boxcar, was missing a break wheel & chain as well as one stirrup. These have all been added.

The three Australian cars all seem okay to me. I will test them again.
