We have had 140 mm of rain in Ballina since I arrived. That means no walks on the beach so far, but it has not affected the Ausweb conference which has been a delight.
Yesterday's poster session went very well.

I left the laptop at the house today but took a book with me to Ausweb.
A high school student was killed by a shark at lighthouse beach in Ballina yesterday. It was only a few hundred yards from where the Asweb conference was taking place. I could hear the rescue helicopters but at the time did not realize what the problem was.
