A. Morning Musings

My coffee is beside me, as is a piece of toast.

Musings are not coming easily this morning. The forecast for both Lethbridge and Waterton is fairly good. Maybe we will make a quick trip to the mountains for lunch.

The Calvino book has turned out to be a collection of short stories. I have read the first six, there are five more to read but this is slightly misleading as I have only read about a third of the book. All of the stories have a title of "The adventure of ____" and they all decribe some event that involves the idea of romance. This collection of 11 stories is followed by two more stories of a longer nature. The title of the next story is called "The adventure of a reader". I wonder if I will see myself in it?

Looking at my table of planned activities, it is very short. It is tempting to add something for Mathematics, but I want to wait until the two books I ordered a couple of days ago arrive. I could return to the book I began a couple of weeks ago on quantum physics. I will finish my coffee and the next Calvino short story and then return to this and see if I want to add another item.

B. Actual Learning Activities

3:10 PM

I have completed reading "Difficult Loves". I read the stories quickly, enjoying them all, but at the same time, not overly impressed. I like his writing, and I feel that he did an excellent job of describing various situations, but the stories lacked a purpose. Overall I have a faint feeling of disappointment.
