It is totally overcast at the morning. Today is market day - this time in Bangalow. I am not sure if we will make it or not. Weather will be the deciding issue.

Birds | Bird watching on trail near Tallows beach | 2 hr |
Literature | Begin reading "The Fugitive" vol 6 of "In Search of Lost Time" by Proust | 1 hr |
We took a quick tour of the Bangalow markets and then drove back to Byron Bay for brunch - a nice smoked salmon omelette at the Twisted Sista cafe. We checked out a couple of local bookstores, but didn't see anything of note.
On the way back to Lennox Head we stopped off at a nature reserve trail near Tallows beach and did a little birding. We did see a few birds:
The Black Cockatoo made the trip worthwhile.
There was a large Kite Sailing competition on at Lennox Head when we returned. We watched it from our balcony for awhile and then went over and saw a number of the kites up close. I have some great photos.
I have begun reading "The Fugitive". This is Marcel Proust's sixth volume (of a seven volume series) but is combined with "The Prisoner" into volume 5 of the Modern Library publication. I read "The Prisoner" on the way over to Australia (plus during the first couple of weeks here). The entire series reads, at least to me, as much as an autobiography as a novel, and as such I have developed a genuine aversion to the man. In a word, I find him pathetic.
