We are back from a trip to Uralla and the nearby Gostwick church - two of our regular stops when we are in this area. We also stopped at the Dangars lagoon for a little birding. Much to our surprise, it turned into the birding highlight of our entire stay in Australia: we saw three "Pink-eared Ducks" which had been our list of "hope to see some day" for almost two years. There was a second "lifer" in the group: an Australasian Shoveler. We also saw numerous Galahs, a couple of Red-rumped Lorikeets, and numerous Black-necked Stilts, Black Swans and Coots.
