We are back from a week-long trip to Edmonton. It always feels good to be home.
We stopped beside the highway on the road between Claresholm and Barons to do a little birdwatching at a slough that was full of birds. It was difficult to get a good identification of most of them as we were looking directly into the sun. Phyllis was pretty sure she saw a Greater Yellowlegs - the legs were clearly yellow. I took a few photos and I agree: the legs are yellow. This is a Canadian lifer for us (we saw a few hundred of them in Mexico in February).

I keep forgetting to scan the covers of the books that I am reading at the moment.
I am using some spare time to play with crossword puzzles. I now have a book of "easy" New York Times puzzles. They are actually not too bad. I can usually get about 3/4 of the puzzle in the first couple of hours and often get within a few blank squares after another half dozen reviews.
Here are the covers of the two novels I finished while in Edmonton:
And now for the novel that I have just begun:
(That is the back cover, honest. It is printed upside-down on my book.)
"Number 9 Dream", "Since Daisy Creek" and "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" are all books I bought a few years ago and have finally got around to reading.
Finally, here are the covers for the non-fiction book that I started a couple of weeks ago.
I forgot the math book I bought!
That is enough for the moment.
