Today I began reading the latest Sid Marty book, "Switchbacks: True Stories From the Canadian Rockies". This was a pleasant respite from the technical theme of the last couple of weeks.

I have never met Sid Marty, but his stories about Warden life in the National Parks ring true to me and bring back numerous memories of my own in this same area and time. The names of many of the mountains and trails bring back cystal clear memories of my own on the same trails, although I didn't do the serious rock climbing that Marty describes.
