An Example of a "Learning Process" Journal (using the 2 colored box format)

I tried to solve the problem of having to connect and disconnect cables so that the two computers can use the same printer.

My first idea was to purchase a USB2.0 cable and connect the second computer to the USB hub that I have. It turns out that USB cables have a flat end and a square end. It then turns out that the hub has only one square end socket, which means that only one computer can be connected to the hub.

My next idea was to look at the Wireless broadband station that I have connected to the PC. The manual is fairly technical, but I think the solution is embedded here somehow. I do know that the PC and the Mac are both connected via ethernet cables to the wireless base station. This should mean (I think) that:

1) I can share files between computers, and

2) I can share peripheral devices (such as printers and scanners).

But I don't know how to do this at the moment!

Total time on this task so far: about 2 hours (includes trip to store to see USB cables).

Reminder: each "Learning" session has a new web page.
