Today is the day we have an equal number of hours of daylight and darkness. Fascinating. The actual solstice was on September 21. But that must refer to life on the equator.
Yesterday was a day where we had two good meals in restaurants. That, plus no real walking or exercise, and I gained a pound (to 190). I am grateful it was only a pound.
The early morning tea is a welcome addition to my daily routine. Mmmm.
B. Plan
I have a meeting for 10 this morning with a colleague at the uni. Lots of time for a good walk before then. Then I will aim for a trip downtown to drop off some stuff at the Salvos and then drop in to the city hall to see about a skating pass.

C. Actual/Notes
8:40 am I have put a couple of hours into updating our North American birds database as well as adding keywords to our iPhoto images from our trip to Virginia. I have now completed the files for August. As of the end of August our lifer total for North America was 98 and our total of unique birds seen in 2006 was 44. The next images are from Point Pelee National Park in Ontario where we saw a number of new birds so our totals should exceed 100 and 50 respectively.
7:55 PM A satisfying day. The meeting this morning was a delight. Then I made a trip across the coulee to drop of the stuff at the Salvo. When I went to city hall to see about buying a seniors skating pass I was told that the procedures had changed and that I would now have to visit an arena to buy the pass. I then came home and worked on the model train tables. They are now complete and firmly fastened to one another. Tomorrow I will try placing some track on the layout to confirm that my plans will still work.
