B. Plan
I am feeling energetic and ready to tackle some jobs today. Putting the canopy back on the truck will be an early morning task. Then I will winterize the 5th wheel (another summer where we failed to make use of it!). Finally, I will do some basic construction work building the structures to support the tables for the model train layout. I do not want to begin this latter task until after 11 am as the noise of the saw may annoy the neighborhood.
Yesterday I forgot to take a photo for the weather images. I must remember that today. Now for a sip of tea.
Beginning to use the FitDay software is already paying dividends. The combination of an extra long walk and reduced portions resulted in a loss of 2 pounds (!). I am now at 191 and the trend is down. It is encouraging to receive some positive feedback right at the start. I have updated the files and am becoming more comfortable with using Parallels to switch between OS X and Windows xp.

C. Actual/Notes
7:00 am I have just finished reading the last few stories from "All the Men Are Sleeping". A great way to begin the morning. I cannot recall a collection that I enjoyed more. He captures Cape Breton like the flash of a camera. Bright, searing and memorable. I am in awe of his skill with words, but even more for the deep understanding he has of the people of that part of Canada. I am drained from the experience and have no wish to do anything for a few minutes but savor the feeling of having drunk deeply from the well.
3:30 PM Mission accomplished. We put the canopy on the truck right after breakfast and had the 5th wheel winterized by noon. Then I spent the afternoon making table supports and tops for the model train layout. It has all worked out as planned. Some days are very good days.
We also saw our first Red-breasted Nuthatch at our bird feeder. This is not a lifer as we have one previous record of seeing one in 2004. It will be difficult to get a photo of the little fella as she zips in, grabs a seed, and zips away.
