5:30 am
Sunday is my day for planning the upcoming week's activities.
Today we have a brunch planned with the Tofield folk. It will be good to see them all again. The forecast is still for another hot day.
Tomorrow will be a travel day as we return to Lethbridge. It will take us a couple of days to decide what we want to try to do with the 5th wheel. It will depend in part on the weather forecast and in part on whether we have any difficulty arranging for a camp site reservation. In the meantime it will be easy to remove the hitch from the truck and take the cement blocks to the landfill. I will aim to do that on Tuesday. That will take care of the last large chore on my list.
I continue to focus on three Learning activities: Model Trains, Literature and Technology.
Maintaining this web site is turning into an adventure. I have run a routine that checks the site for broken links and have found about 65. I have reduced that to 57 but am running into difficulties caused by my decision to no longer maintain a separate web site for each set of notebooks. I need to review the Project Management web page and verify that it is up to date. Most of the identified projects are on hold, but the Literature, Technology and Model Trains Projects have not been maintained. Clearly my Project management web page is not doing the job as I have forgotten all about it for almost 3 months! In large part, the planning table that I use each day is the one that I use to determine my daily activities. But the original idea of having a page where I could review what I have been doing and use that to help make decisions about future activities is still a good idea. It is going to take some effort to bring this page up to date, but I think it will be worth it.
Model Trains: I want to return to the task of wiring the Lower Mainline track. I want to set up the Power Districts and also wire at least one turnout, just to verify that I have that under control. I also want to make substantial progress on assembling the wooden trestle kit.
Technology: I hope to continue reading and making notes for "Switching to the Mac".
Literature: I finished reading the first volume of "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever" yesterday and will begin the second volume today. I expect to finish the third volume by the end of the week.
9:00 am I have corrected all of the broken links for this web site. Almost all of them did not affect performance but were hidden links that should have been deleted. At least now I know that the code is cleaner than it was when I woke up.
6:05 PM I have updated the Project Management web page. I am generally pleased with this, particularly the section for Model Trains.
