Today is our 40th wedding anniversary. A special day for us both. Gayle is taking us out for dinner this evening.
The forecast is for + 35 C, so we will take it very easy.
Saturday is my day for reviewing the week's activities.
Chores: We now have the 5th wheel in the back yard and travel ready. I am still working on the cracks in the cement floor in the garage, but have made progress there.
Model Trains: This has been the major new activity this month. I now have the NRMA guage so I can test both track and rolling stock to see that they are accurate within acceptable tolerances. I now have the terminal strips and wire for wiring both the Lower Main Line and the switches on that section of track. The structures for the oil refinery are almost complete (only the black paint on the bottom of the oil tank still needs to be applied). But the important development has been a plan for extending the layout to include a trestle and high level bridge.
Technology: I have read the first 4 chapters of "Switching to the Mac" and have made notes on the first 3 chapters.
Digital Photography: I am now familiar with using the monopod stand and the tele conversion lens. This is another important addition to my skill set as it will enable me to obtain better photos of distant birds.
Literature: I am now a couple of hundred pages into "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever: Lord Foul's Bane".
