A. Morning Musings

5:20 am Yesterday was another good day, although this one tried my patience a bit. We had no difficulty putting the sod down but the problems began when we attached a nozzle to the hose that we had attached to the new tap. It leaked badly at the nozzle end. Since we realized we now needed a new hose we decided to also buy a new tap for the tap on the other side of the house which was also leaking. A fellow at the store said we needed a 14" casing (the other tap used a 12" casing). We took his word but when we tried to fit it in it was too large. We went back and exchanged it, but we were unable to insert the new fitting into the pipe. After a couple of hours of trying every possible combination of parts I was able to find a combination of old and new parts that worked and didn't leak. We also applied 5 bags of a nice bark mulch to the front flower bed and some grass seed to some dead spots on the front lawn. We celebrated at a nearby Chinese restaurant where the food was truly spectacular.

Edmonton won the hockey game and now leads Anaheim in the western final series 2 - 0. They have now won 6 straight games. We have an Oilers pennant on the truck and fit right in. The city is getting excited.

Today we will assemble the bed frame and apply some fertilizer to the lawn. A very easy day.
