A. Morning Musings

7:00 am Now for a few minutes of thought before beginning some calculus. First, a sip of coffee. Now off for a quick trip to Shelly beach. I think we will make a trip to Byron Bay later today to visit a few shops, have a cappuccino, and walk on main beach.

Chores: none

Mathematics: continue making notes for "Calculus".

C. Actual

8:20 am We are back from our morning walk. It was very pleasant. I think I have a couple of good photos of clouds. We saw two sooty oystercatchers, some butcherbirds, some little wattlebirds, some welcome swallows, a few fairy wrens (both superb and red-backed), a couple of pied cormorants and an osprey. At the moment the sky is overcast with high cloud.

8:30 am Now for a little calculus. Done. I have completed exercises 5 - 22 for chap 1.3 of "Calculus". 9:30 am

4:00 PM We are back from a trip to the lighthouse at Byron Bay. It felt good to be back and to see the dolphins again. I was also able to buy a small book on digital photography that looks like a good introduction to the topic.

Unfortunately the air conditioning on the car continued to turn itself off and on. We finally gave up on it and took it into an auto electrical shop in Ballina. They have ordered a part and will do the repairs tomorrow. That will also give our friends an extra day or two to acclimatize to the heat and humidity of this region. 4:10 PM
