Saturday February 4, 2006 6:00 am Ballina NSW A. Morning Musings 6:00 am I think I will need my cuppa this morning to get started. I realized that I failed to make an entry last evening. We plan to be in Lismore for much of the day. I also just realized that I failed to do my exercises yesterday. The two main priorities at the moment are Mathematics ("Coincidences, Chaos, and All That Math Jazz") and Technology (digital camera reviews). I will begin with a quick email/web review. Indications are that the prices for the digital camera are lower than I was expecting - that is a good way to begin the day. B. Plan Chores: none Exercise: Exercise & Beach walk. Mathematics: Notes for chap. 7 - 9 "Coincidences, Chaos, and All That Math Jazz". Technology: Review digital cameras (particularly Canon, Sony & Olympus) Literature: Food, Art, History and Drawing will not be active. 6:15 am C. Actual 6:15 am There is a horrific ferry sinking in Egypt - early reports suggest about a thousand may have died. 6:40 am 6:40 am Now for some Mathematics. Done. This has been both interesting and the start of a slippery slope as I become interested in symmetry and tiling operations. It is hard to capture the excitement that I feel at the moment, but it is real. 8:40 am 7:45 PM Here are two scans of the program we went to at Trinity Catholic College in Lismore: D. Reflection 8:00 PM I have finished reading "Coincidences, Chaos, and All That Math Jazz" and will aim to make my last notes for it tomorrow. I have begun reading Wordplay by John Langdon. It is a fascinating book that is difficult to categorize. However I think the best option is Philosophy. But the main event was a 1.5 hour play in Lismore based on Macbeth. It was fantastic! I have heard back from Edmonton about prices for the Canon S2 IS and they were quite a bit lower than I was expecting. 8:10 PM
