6:00 am Morning Musings
At the moment I have a daily routine consisting of 3 activities: model trains, literature and geocaching. By the end of the month I expect to be finished with all three - at least with the present goals:
- Model Trains: complete the operating instructions for all 10 of the trains. Once that is done I want to learn how to program the decoders in the locomotives. There are always next steps...
- Literature: complete reading "Infinite Jest". There are always more books.
- Geocaching: try to find at least one cache for each day in November. I need to find one today. The wind is up but so is the temperature so this shouldn't be too difficult.
- My present lifetime total is 1193. I should be able to reach 1200 before the end of the year. I have a list of 9 caches in the Lethbridge area that still need to be tried (and 2 DNFs that are worth a second try).
- My total for 2011 is now 281. I would like to try to reach 300 but this will require a trip to either Medicine Hat or Calgary. Weather is the main factor now.
- Both December and January have been virtually non-existent when it comes to looking for geocaches. Both months have only 2 days when I have found a cache. If I am ever going to find caches for the remaining days I will have to forego looking for ones in the immediate vicinity, leaving these that are more conducive to winter searching. On the other hand it may make more sense to ignore these two months and focus on the remaining 10. February and March have 14 days still to be filled in and April has 15.
1:00 PM Geocaching
The wind at the moment is 78 kph with gusts to 102 kph. Sub-optimal for geocaching but with a temperature of +12 C it wasn't too bad. I was able to keep my streak alive with another quick find. I get a break tomorrow and then I need to find caches on 4 consecutive days in order to have at least one for every day in November.

6:00 PM Literature
I am continuing with "Infinite Jest". It continues to fascinate me, primarily for the writing.
