10:20 am Geocaching
I went for a short walk early this morning to search for a nearby geocache. This was a real challenge but I finally found the container. The photos will give a sense of the difficulty.
- GC1GPAB - Under Pressure
I knew this would be a challenge as soon as I approached the cache site. I was right. However after checking almost all other possibilities I then crawled underneath the sculpture and spotted the container while looking up.

After a continental breakfast in the motel, we drove up the Grant Creek Road to the Elk Country Visitor Center where we parked our Rav4 and walked a short distance to another geocache site.
- GCMJJK - Roast Mutton (TABA #2)
This took a few minutes but my Montana 600 was right on target and I soon had my second find of the day.

My global total of geocache finds is now 1022, and my number of Montana finds is 6.
11:00 am Life
I then put my geocaching pack in the Rav4 and visited the Elk Country Visitor Center. Very impressive! One of the main photos of an elk was taken in Jasper with Mount Edith Cavell in the background! Neat.
Here are a few photos of the exhibits.
We then went for a hike in the Rattlenake Recreation Area.
We even saw a Common Yellowthroat in a marshland park. That is a new "lifer" for us. This brings our global total of lifers to 604, and our total for USA lifers to 121.
