6:10 am

The temperature is +8 C, with a high predicted of +27 C.

From the Environment Canada website: Today Sunny. Wind becoming west 20 km/h gusting to 40 this afternoon. High 27. UV index 8 or very high. Tonight Clear. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light near midnight. Low 9. Normals Max: 25°C Min: 10°C.

There is nothing but sunshine in the forecast for the next week. Finally, it really feels like summer.

11:00 am Model Trains

I ran Train #101, a passenger train, from Coaldale to Jasper and then followed this with the return trip as Train #100.

I then did some switching in the Coaldale Yard as I set up the consist for Train #701, which will be the last operational run for Session 1.

12:30 PM History

Fischer

I have almost finished reading "Champlain's Dream", a biography that has improved my understanding of early Canadian history.

[Addendum - 9:20 PM] Finished. This biography was a real treat. I enjoyed every page of it (but I did not delve into the commentary and footnotes at the end).

2:00 PM

I completed my "regular" coulee walk. I am finally getting back into making this part of my daily Dale routine.
