I have reviewed the procedure for creating a Mathematica notebook file and saving it on the Web. I am now ready to begin making a few notes while reading "Mathematica Demystified" by Jim Hoste.
The first chapter is called "Getting Started". |
I love using Mathematica. The power of this software continues to amaze me. The capability of the software to distinguish between exact (i.e. symbolic) and approximate evaluations is magic. The capability to give an answer involving hundreds and even thousands of digits in just a second or two is also magic. The notational conventions are somewhat different than that commonly used when hand writing but I think that becoming bilingual is well worth the effort. Total time this morning: about 1 hour. |
