Introduction

This in my latest attempt to provide a cohesive structure that provides both a record of the books I read during 2008 as well as a list of books that I have yet to read, but which reside on the shelves in my home.

This is the first time that I have tried to incorporate non-fiction books into my web site. This was a strange omission as I have many more non-fiction books that I do fiction. The motivation for such an inclusion is the same that originally motivated me to create a Literature web site - to have a way of both monitoring and directing my reading activities.

I am not going to attempt to categorize most of the books that I possess. Many of my books are better thought of as reference books - books to be sampled rather than read from start to finish. Rather, for each sub-category I shall only list those that I seriously hope to read in the foreseeable future.

However, as this is my first version of such a set of lists, it is possible, even likely, that I will make some modifications to this web structure as I gain experience with it.
