A. Morning Musings

8:00 am

I slept in this morning, but I think I needed it. I am feeling refreshed and ready to work in the yard today. The hot, dry weather is taking a toll on the plants.

C. Actual Learning Activities

7:00 am

The Pelikan M250 Tradition fountain pen is a great addition to my possessions. I am enjoying writing with it and am now searching for the ultimate paper. It brings back memories of when I designed my own stationery. I may try a couple of stationery stores later today.

11:15 am

The university bookstore only supplies student-grade paper. That leaves Office Depot as my best bet. While at the university I was bemused to see modifications on the Wellness Center to accommodate a new Time Hortons donut outlet.

There are planes of different ages and kinds flying overhead every now and then as they arrive for the airshow this weekend. Earlier this morning I saw what looked like a WW II bomber (2 engines), and just now I saw a fighter jet flying in tandem with a small cessna. I didn't realize that jets could fly that slow. It is already +32 C - the expected high for today. It looks like another hot one. All campgrounds in south-western Alberta are now closed because of the fire hazard, even though this is a long weekend and everyone will be wanting to go camping.
