I am not sure about today. I will easily finish reading "By a Frozen River" this morning. I finally sat down yesterday and read solidly for about 2 hours. I love his writing style: sparse but effective. Hopefully I will get around to some Science, and maybe a little Maths, later in the day. But we will be spending much of the day reorganizing and moving furniture as we put things back in place after having shampooed the carpets.
As part of the reorganization, I may spend some time reviewing the books that are on my shelves and seeing about another cull. But the first activities are to get the coffee boiling and to finish "By a Frozen River".
Immediate | Description | Time |
---|---|---|
Literature | Complete reading "By a Frozen River" by Norman Levine | 2hr |
Literature | Begin reading "The Empty Chair" by Jeffery Deaver | 1 hr |
Science | Read & make notes for chaps 6 & 7 of "The Canon" | 2 hr |
Mathematics | Review sections 1 - 3 of "Algebra: Abstract and Concrete" | 1 hr |
I have just finished "By a Frozen River". Superb. His writing is like a sculpture. He has whittled away everything that is not necessary. What is left is what is essential. A great way to begin the day. Sitting in my chair, with a fresh cuppa, and a book worth reading.
I have read chapters 6 & 7 of the "The Canon" on evolutionary and molecular biology but have yet to make any notes. As a break from such serious reading I have begun another Jeffery Deaver mystery novel, "The Empty Chair".
