A. Morning Musings

5:30 am It is +14 C with a high forecast of +26 C. A few days ago we couldn't reach double digits.

Here are the news.

Australian Headline: (from The Australian): Big-spending Budget Brings Tax Cuts And Handouts

Federal Treasurer Peter Costello has formally released the government's budget for the coming year. It includes tax cuts and major changes to the educational system in an effort to halt the rising popularity of the leader of the opposition Labour party, Kevin Rudd.

B. Actual/Notes

7:30 am I am in spring cleaning mode. The overall goal is to complete a few tasks that have been hanging on for a few months:

  1. Complete converting LPs to MP3 format.
  2. Update birding web pages from our Mexican trip.
  3. Review and cull my personal library
  4. Bring my Fiction and Non-fiction databases up to date to reflect this cull.

4:00 PM Here are two more photos showing the beginning of the spring activity of the May tree in our backyard.

10:00 PM A good day. A nice blend of yard work and technology work. I converted a total 5 LPs to MP3 format. Two were by Gordon Lightfoot and 3 were by the Australian group The Seekers. All that remains is 5 more LPs, all by Joan Baez.

I sent an email to the Zhummel web site asking them which T-ring adaptor I should order. Hopefully I will get a reply in a day or so.

I have about 5 boxes of books to remove. Two boxes will go to the public library and 3 boxes will go to the university. And my database has been updated to reflect these changes.
