A. Morning Musings

6:20 am It is -4 C at the moment with a high of +1 C forecast.

Here are the news.

CBC Headline: Police Arrest Lafleur at Montreal Airport

This is part of the ongoing investigation into the sponsorship scandal under the previous Liberal government. He faces a 35-count, $1.6-million fraud indictment for his alleged role. He had been in Belize, but when he heard that an arrest warrant had been issued for him, he turned himself in. This is an neverending story, but keeping this in the news is likely to hurt the Liberal party.

Canadian Headline: see above

Australian Headline: (from The Australian): Business Rebuffs Howard Over IR Ad Blitz

This is part of the ongoing story about the battles between Howard and the union movement in Australia. Howard wanted business to fund a proposed ad campaign in support of the government's policies for the workplace but they refused. This appears to be a major issue for the upcoming election.

My weight is down 1 to 187. Great. This is a new low for me since Christmas. But I still have a full seven pounds more to lose to meet my goal.

C. Actual/Note

8:00 am I have put in a good hour updating my Filemaker Pro database for birds. Another example of slow and steady catchup activities. Now for a cuppa at TUMs with Frank. A great way to begin the day.

1:30 PM Here are two more photos showing the beginning of the spring activity of the May tree in our backyard.

9:00 PM A busy day of shopping for supplies for the weekend plus handling a few other household chores. We did manage to get out for a good walk in the afternoon, but my Learning activities were all but nonexistant.
