GENERAL SITES
  Jewish Virtual Library: Probably the most extensive site for reliable information about all aspects of Judaism and the Jewish people. Articles at this site are often linked to by other sites on Judaism. Well designed; easy to use. Maintained by the American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise. 
  Judaism: An attractive, introductory site of the main features of Judaism, with numerous short articles on a variety of topics, and links to other sites. The site is part of the BBC web resources introducing the major religious traditions of the world.
  Judaism 101: A massive site, dealing with almost every aspect of Judaism, with hundreds of links to other resources. Started in 1995. Maintained by Tracey R. Rich.

TEXTS
GENERAL
  Internet Sacred Text Archive: Judaism: A wide range of Jewish literature (most of old English translations), but some Hebrew text too. A good place to start if you are looking for well known Jewish documents, from the Torah to documents from the twentieth century.
TORAH
  Navigating the Bible II: Online Bar/Bat Mitzah Tutor: This part of the site contains a translation of the Torah, with linked brief notes where the text needs clarification.
  Navigating the Bible II: Online Bar/Bat Mitzah Tutor: Reference: This part of the site contains a relatively detailed dictionary of People, Places, Plants, and Animals. Each entry is heavily cross-indexed.
TANAKH
  The Holy Scriptures: The Tanakh: Part of the Jewish Virtual Library. The text is from the 1917 version of the Jewish Bible published by the Jewish Publication Society. It does not have a search feature.
MISHNAH
Mishnah: An interactive image map of a page of the Mishnah, with extensive descriptions of the content, date, authorship, etc. Written by Professor Segal of the Religious Studies Department of the University of Calgary.
TALMUD

SHULCHAN ARUCH
Shulchan Aruch: This site offers a summary of the first two parts of the Shulchan Aruch. Easy to navigate, the site provides a good sense and feel for Jewish legislation and concerns within Orthodoxy.
The Shulhan Arukh: An interactive image map of a page of the Shulchan Aruch, with brief descriptions of the content, date, authorship, etc. Written by Professor Segal of the Religious Studies Department of the University of Calgary.

FESTIVALS
GENERAL
  Holidays: An extensive discussion of the Jewish festivals, from an Orthodox perspective. Links to simple descriptions and to complex discussions. This is part of the Orthodox Union site.

PRACTICE
GENERAL 
  Jewish Law: This site is maintained by The Center for Halacha and American Law of the Aleph Institute, whose concern is to help explain and defend halakic practice in the United States and to help religious and secular law to find a proper fit. A comprehensive site.

SYMBOLS
STAR (MAGEN) OF DAVID
  Zionist Flags and Other Proposals (Israel): The site provides a brief history of the various flags used to identify Zionist interests prior to the adoption of the flag of the State of Israel in 1948. The Star of David is featured on most of the early flags. Part of the Flags of the World website.
KOSHER
  Orthodox Union Kosher Page: This site provides various kinds of information about kosher requirements among Orthodox Jews. Check out the numerous links and FAQs.
  Kosher Quest: This site provides the symbols of almost 50 kosher certification groups, along with links to many of the groups. It also has a brief account of the history and nature of kosher certification.
  Kosher Glossary: A detailed list of terms related to kosher regulations and to food and celebrations in which food is an element. Provided by Star-K Kosher Certification.
