I am currently a 4th year Bachelor of Science student in Geography working in the Remote sensing lab at the U of L. The past to years I have been working closely with Dr. Coburn and Dr. Teillet, perfecting data collection methodologies for measuring crop canopies using the ULGS2 field goniometer system.

Being able to be hands on in a Lab environment has enhanced my University Experience immensely.  Taking ideas for the theoretical stage and then following through on them to completion, and then the final paper stage has given me a sense of real accomplishment. Some highlights where; presenting a poster and demo at the RSCC, working on development and trouble shooting of the ULGS2, writing a paper closely with Dr. Coburn, and the collection of first of its kind data in the field.

My background starts in a small town in Eastern Alberta where I grew up on a family farm. After graduation form high school I moved to Edmonton for two years of Civil Engineering at Nait. Due to a family illness with my father, I return to the family farm and farmed for several years and worked in the Oil Patch to supplement the farm. Growing tired of the day to day challenges in the oil patch, I decided to go back to school and applied to the U of L in 2006.

I am hoping continue my education here at the U of L with a Masters program in Remote Sensing in the fall of 2010.
