A bellows visor close-helm, 16th century or so. This one was based off of a helm in the Glenbow Museum in Calgary. This helm was made of a relatively low-carbon steel, and I tried giving it a heat-treatment and quench in water from 1500 degrees fahrenheit. This made the helm slightly more resistant to dents, but I need a higher-carbon steel to get really high performance out of the heat treatment.

beautifully; great for polearm duels and against those who make heavy
use of thrusting in their combat. The eyeslots may look small, but I
find the vision to be outstanding compared to having big ugly bars in
front of my eyes. And then there is the whole eye-contact intimidation
thingy. Although it does get very hot very fast in there.
