IDENTIFICATION
GC2HK76 A View of Paradise N 49° 39.176 W 112° 49.450Difficulty 2.5; Terrain 3; size regular; Creator: meshmom&crew Date First Hidden: 10/31/2010 Date Last Found: 11/03/2010 LethbridgeDescription This is accessible via Coalbanks Trail; but best bet is to park behind Lethbridge College. Some up & down through the coulees required. Depending which route you take, some parts of trails are washed out (usually on the less travelled trails). This is a popular area for hikers & mountain bikers. This cache is located between two coulees where there are alot of boulders & rocks. Container is a camoflauged ammo box. Contains log book, lots of swag, and a Travel Bug. There is also a FTF prize in with the log book!! This is our first hide!! Hope co-ordinates work out - took several readings - let us know how it goes! We enjoy spending time here; hope you do too!!
Hint Paradise will be hard to see from where the cache is. Watch your step! Comments
PLANNING
This was the second cache to appear recently that involves a fairly lengthy hike to the cache site. I love these and am looking forward to completing the find for this one before it begins to snow.
OUTCOME
This was my only search of the day. I had some difficulty locating the container and not until I remembered the hint did I make any progress. Then I simply tried to find a spot where I could no longer see the Paradise Canyon golf course and sure enough, there it was. But even so, it wasn't obvious until after I moved a rock and then took a second look at the "pile"of rocks behind it. Here is my posting to this geocaching.com website:
Fantastic weather for November. The route to the cache was very interesting - I took a lot of photos. The cache took me much too long to find. I took lots of photos of it as well. Thank you for everything! TNLNSL. Geocaching is fun! Here are a few photos:
