Description

NOTE:MAJOR DAM RECONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS. ENTRANCE TO THE CAMPGROUND IS RESTRICTED UNTIL MAY 2005. PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC MAY BE ALLOWED BUT THE WALK WILL BE 1.5km ONE WAY. The nearest habitation is named after Milo Monroe who opened the first post office in his home in 1908. The lake itself was established in 1920 as a water reservoir for irrigation purposes. There is a good place nearby to have a picnic or lunch (if it’s not too hot or windy). You may even wish to do some camping. Fishing gear might also be appropriate to help while away an hour or two…(between caches) The cache is a well-concealed blue-lidded 1 kg peanut butter jar

Hint Nooks and cracks, hidden by pinks and blacks; and check the title.

PLANNING

We were in the area for other reasons and I decided to add a couple of geocache searches to the agenda.

OUTCOME

1:30 PM. This was the second search. The hike was only a couple of hundred yards, but the rubble was daunting. I focused on looking for something red and was soon rewarded with a find.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

A bit daunting as the site comes into view. Thanks for the hint! TNLNSL. TFTC.
