GC2EG39 "X X X" N 49° 40.999 W 112° 50.000Difficulty 2; Terrain 1.5; size micro; Creator: Joci Date First Hidden: 9/02/2010 Date Last Found: FTF LethbridgeDescription The cache is not at the posted coordinates, you have to convert the numerals to get the right coords !!! So the right coords are N49* XLI. XII and W112* XLIX. DCCCLVIII This one is an easy to get to but you can not park right next to it because there is no parking permited there so you have to park a bit away like a block and walk up to it. To grab it and put it back, you want to look around and make sure nobody around seeing you. Because sometimes it could get busy here. Most of the time this kind of numerals are used to express year dates, especially the date for the making of a movie or a television program. This kind of numerals are also used on formal documents and papers, analog clocks, and on building cornerstones. So this is why I would like to express this date because I think it is special and interesting (X X X=10.10.10.) Oh yah and geocaching is X=10 years old this year !!!!!!!!! It is a micro so bring your own writing instrument. There is a FTF prize (a "X" dollar worth of Timmi's card) what is in a diferent location not too far from the cache. The coords for it in the cache container and the prize is stucked behind the pipe at the coords. Please do not leave this coords in the cache. Thanx in advance ! So the right coords are again: N49* XLI. XII and W112* XLIX. DCCCLVIII

PLANNING
I had returned from an early morning find in west Lethbridge and was logging this on the geocaching.com website when I noticed that 2 new caches had appeared in Lethbridge. I decided to see if I could obtain an FTF, so I put the coordinates into my GPS unit and headed back out.
OUTCOME
10:25 am. This was a comedy of errors. This was a puzzle cache. The first step, which I completed before I left home, was to convert the Roman numerals to arabic numerals. I used google to find a conversion web site and soon had the coordinates as N 49 41.120 W 112 49.858. The minor difficulty was the decimal conversion of the North coordinate which was clearly "twelve". Not a problem. I simply added a zero to the end and drove off. But when I arrived at the coordinates I was in front of a small private house and the description for the cache was not making any sense. I decided to give up and began driving to the second cache on my list. But I kept thinking Joci wouldn't make a mistake. Then it hit me. The coordinates for North would be N 49 41.012 - twelve is the correct number. I needed to add the zero to the front of the value, not the end. I put the new coordinates into my GPS and turned around and tried again. This worked fine. When I opened the container I saw the sheet of paper with the coordinates for the FTF prize (a Tim Hortons card) which I removed from the container and then drove to the second location where I found the card. Then I realized that I had not signed the log sheet in the cache container. Back I went, retrieved the container, signed the log and was about to replace the container when I noticed two other geocachers approaching the cache site. I gave them the container, showed them where it went, and headed off to see the second cache site.
FTF It has been a long time since I had one of these. Thanks for the prize. Here are two photos:
