GC21989 Hose Reel Flash Cache N 49° 29.311 W 117° 17.449Difficulty 1; Terrain 1; size small; Creator: fear the tubas Date First Hidden: 11/22/2009 Date Last Found: 9/26/2010 Nelson BCDescription Visit this historic locale for a quick cache, just the way Tuba 1 likes it! Trade your flashes here! A « flash » is the name for the shoulder insignia or patch from a fire department, police, or various other official uniforms. Many people like to collect them from all over. The historic Nelson Fire Hall, built in 1913, was designed to house four horses and two fire wagons. The hill allowed them to get a good start on where ever they needed to go! There is a great fire museum inside the firehall, ring the doorbell and ask the firefighters to direct you to the exhibits. *This is a working fire hall! Do not park in front of the hall – you will need to park about a block away. If you hear an alarm, get out of the way! Common sense is your friend.
Hint bushed! Comments
PLANNING
This was a travel day as we drive from Kelowna to Nelson, BC. I identified 8 caches along our route. Then, depending on the time, I may add a few more while we are in Nelson. We are now in Nelson and I have made a list of 5 caches within walking distance of the motel.
