GC1QE1Q G & S's Mystery Gift Exchange N 50° 16.680 W 119° 16.689Difficulty 1.5; Terrain 1; size regular; Creator: Groundhog & Shadow Date First Hidden: 4/15/2009 Date Last Found: 9/06/2010 Vernon BCDescription Don’t you love a mystery? Don’t you love a gift exchange? This is almost a drive-up cache hidden in an ammo can with a logbook, geocache note and pencil. Unique to this cache, however, is that it contains wrapped gifts: items with an approximate value of $1+ either in envelopes or wrapped in wrapping paper. You won't know for sure what the gift is that you take! You must exchange it with a wrapped item with approx. $1+ value. There are empty envelopes, wrapping paper and scotch tape in the ammo can to wrap your gift up if you haven’t already done so as well. Remember . . . no peeking! What you take is what you keep! When logging your find, please report what the mystery gift you took was, and you can also say what you left so if someone wants to go get it, they'll have to guess which package it is. The cache hide's location isn't great for interest, but it was chosen because it is fairly muggle-free, and has good hiding spots for large containers.
Hint Look under 2 rocks above the cylinder -- 4th line. Comments
PLANNING
This was our first full day in Vernon. I had the afternoon to myself to do some geocaching so made a list of 14 geocaches and headed out to see what would happen.
OUTCOME
2:00 PM This was my 7th search of the day. This was a totally new cache idea for me. The hint only made sense when I arrived at the area and realized the 4th line referred to painted lines on the pavement.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
A novel idea for a cache! Very original. TNLNSL. TFTC. Here is a photo of the container:
even wrapping paper was included!
I am now 6/7 for today.
