Please stay on the trails. The field across the way used to be the dump for Jasper. For many years it attracted numerous black bears and a few grizzly bears as it offered a food source which was concentrated, high-quality and predicable. Predictable also were the thousands of tourists that would make their way to the dump to catch a glimpse of a bear. In accordance with Jasper National Park guidelines no trading items or things that might attract wildlife are to be left in this cache. Please bring your own pen.

PLANNING
We will be spending 2 days in Jasper on our way to Kelowna. I have identified 6 caches in the near vicinity of the townsite and will see how many I can find.
OUTCOME
12:05 PM This was my 5th search of the day. This was the 3rd of four caches along a trail on the east side of Cottonwood creek.
