GC2AR7Y Border View N 49° 03.878 W 113° 21.216Difficulty 3; Terrain 1.5; size micro; Creator: morenews Date First Hidden: 6/24/2010 Date Last Found: 8/14/2010 ruralDescription A beautiful view of the Rockie Mountains and you can see the Canada / USA Border from here. A micro with a first to find activated geocoin. There is a pull off to park, please use it, stay off the Hwy and respect land owners, please do not open the gate. The cache is not over into that property. I have cleared this with the land owners, and that is all they asked. There is log paper to sign but no pencil so be sure to bring your own. This has been my favorite view on the way to the USA. The cache could be a bit fragile. Please be careful with it and put it back just the way you found it. Thanks. Hint not inside the pasture, please stay on the side of the fence the car pull off is on. Comments
PLANNING
I set up a route last night that would involve a total of 9 searches. I was not sure how many would be possible as three of the searches would involve some hiking, which is often difficult to estimate in terms of time taken. Then there is always the unknown factor of how long it actually takes to spot the cache once one is in the area. And there will also be a fair amount of driving between caches, sometimes on rural gravel roads. It promised to be a full day. But the weather was perfect: sunny, warm, no wind, blue sky.
OUTCOME
9:00 am This was my 2nd search of the morning. It was a relatively short drive south of Cardston on the highway to the US. I spotted the container almost immediately.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
A very scenic drive south from Cardston. Nice hide. SL. TFTC.
Here are a few photos:

I am now 2/2 for today.
