The terrain is easy (a gravel trail which turns into a grass/dirt path). The look-out is the mid-way point, roughly, of the trail loop. The trail can be walked (long) or cycled (moderate). Insects can be a problem. This cache was placed by an eight year old (under supervision). The cache is a hand-painted (camo) plastic jar.

PLANNING

I created a set of 6 searches in two Provincial Parks. I then added another 8 searches for backup in the event that I finished searching for the first six and still had time on my hands. The goal was to add 2 more provincial parks to my total for Alberta. Eventually I will have searched in almost all of the parks in the province that have caches. This promises to be a full day, with lots of driving to and from the search areas.

OUTCOME

10:55 am. It was another km or so to the next cache. At onee point I thought I could take a short cut but soon found my way blocked by water. I did see a deer while trying to find my way through the grass. The cache itself was relatively easy to see once I keyed in on the bush.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

I made a mistake of trying to go cross-country but soon realized the error of my ways and returned to the path. TNLNSL. TFTC. This is a lovely park and I have now seen all of this trail - a beautiful trip. Lots of birds, but not sure of their identity.

Here are a couple of photos:

I am now 4/4 for today. This was all of the geocaches in Kinbrook Island Provincial Park.
