PLANNING

I created a set of 6 searches in two Provincial Parks. I then added another 8 searches for backup in the event that I finished searching for the first six and still had time on my hands. The goal was to add 2 more provincial parks to my total for Alberta. Eventually I will have searched in almost all of the parks in the province that have caches. This promises to be a full day, with lots of driving to and from the search areas.

OUTCOME

9:55 am. I drove a short distance to the other end of the hiking trail and then headed north hoping to find 3 caches along the trail. As I approached the area for the first of these I realized that it would be about a hundred meters off the trail in fairly dense bush with high grass everywhere. The mosquitoes were very bad and I had to spray myself with Off before venturing off the trail. This looked like it might be very difficult, but I spotted a small log that had been chewed at one end, moved it, and the container was underneath.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

Approaching the area made me apprehensive, but it turned out to be a quick find. Good coordinates. First time at this end of the trail. TNLNSL. TFTC.
