Crowsnest Pass
Description A fun and easy cache for families. FTF- Gift certificate for a Hot Fudge Sundae at the Ice Cream Shop. Be careful of mugglers. Might be a bit hard to get bootie out of the container. There is a piece of paper for leaving your name. Please bring your own Writing stick! This cache has a beautiful view. Before (or after) you retreive the cache, sit on the rocks and look to the SW. The hills there are covered with dead trees. That is the site of the Lost Creek Fire in 2003. All the residents of Hillcrest were evacuated and we have our Fearless Firemen to thank. Not one home was lost! All pets and people were removed safely and able to return home after several days. The community pulled together and we had shelters, homes taking in people, and the halls filled with volunteers cooking for the fire crews and many volunteers. Looking more to the West you see the Magnificent Frank Slide. Look South and that is the Castle River area. You can drive through Hillcrest and take the Adanac Road to Beaver Mines. A Beautiful Sunday drive! Take a picnic lunch and stop at Castle Falls. Directly North and behind the house that is across the road was the Bellevue Catholic Church (St. Cerils's) closed its doors and ammalgamated with St. Anne's Blairmore and Holy Spirit Coleman to form Holy Trinity Parish. Take a jont down the Main street of Bellevue and see all the old historic buildings.
Hint Caesar puts this on his salad.

PLANNING

I created a set of 14 searches for the Crowsnest Pass. However by 1 PM I had visited them all. Two were occupied by muggles and I planned to try them again on the return trip. I used my iPhone to obtain the coordinates for one additional cache, which involved a good hike up a hill. It was 2 PM by the time I was back at the truck, so I headed home with two searches still in front of me. At this point I was 13/13. The final result for the day was 14/15.

OUTCOME

3:40 PM This was my 15th search of the day, and the 6th in the afternoon. I had driven by this area earlier this morning but there was another vehicle parked at the same spot so I decided to leave and try again later on the way home. This was a relatively easy find, although it involved more hill climbing than I was expecting.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

Last one of the day. Another great trip to the Pass. Thanks to all. TNLNSL.
