GC27DCM Listen to the Rumbling Rocks N 49° 34.611 W 114° 23.092Difficulty 1.5; Terrain 1.5; size small; Creator: WD65 Date First Hidden: 4/24/2010 Date Last Found: 7/26/2010 Crowsnest PassDescription This road the cache is on would take you to what was once known to the locals as the "Golf links", but a couple of years ago, the Municipality decided it would make a great place for ball diamonds and soccer fields. Where locals once walked and horses roamed, this can no longer be done as it is now fenced off. It is an easy walk on a gravel road but if the white gate is open you can drive right up to the cache. The cache is in a camo LnL and contains a logbook, pencil and sharpener. A roll of doggie bags may come in handy, there is a cat toy, snap hook, mini plastic toy cow, bear claw tattoo, cell phone charm and for the FTF, a Tim's card. Very peaceful in this area, if you listen carefully, you may hear the sound of rocks rolling from Turtle Mountain as they fall quite often. The area has been changed quite significantly from what it used to be and hopefully will be a benefit to the community. Hint Comments
PLANNING
I created a set of 14 searches for the Crowsnest Pass. However by 1 PM I had visited them all. Two were occupied by muggles and I planned to try them again on the return trip. I used my iPhone to obtain the coordinates for one additional cache, which involved a good hike up a hill. It was 2 PM by the time I was back at the truck, so I headed home with two searches still in front of me. At this point I was 13/13. The final result for the day was 14/15.
OUTCOME
9:15 am This was my 3rd search of the morning. My first reaction was to look at the base of a few large spruce trees, but when that didn't work I paid close attention to the GPS coordinates and soon found the container under a log.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
Another excellent hide in the Pass. I finally decided to trust my GPS rather than my intuition, and then made the find. TNLNSL. TFTC. Here are a few photos:

I am now 3/3 for today.
