Pallisers Triangle Named after John Palliser, who led a survey through the area in 1863, is a semi arid steppe region in the prairie provinces of western Canada. He reported it as unsuitable for agriculture because of its unfavorable climate and soil. Several years later, John Macoun, a government official, argued that it would be good for growing wheat and advertized it as such to immigrant farmers. The "Triangle" began to be settled and farmed buy the start of the 20th century. Great debates still rage over whether the prairie sod should have been broke! Here, at this cache location, you will find a piece of that history. Hint 1st clue - magnetic
2nd clue - rockyComments
PLANNING
This morning I made a quick sortie south of Lethbridge to search for 7 possible geocaches. The first cache had the incorrect coordinates posted and this threw me off. But the next 6 geocaches unfolded according to plan. My total is now 697.
OUTCOME
This was my 4th search of the day. I was in a bit of a hurry as rain was forecast for later this morning and I was eager to bring my total number of finds close to 700. This would then make it possible for me to have my 700th find in Kingston, Ontario.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
Once again you had me driving on some very scenic country roads. A very nice multi. TNLNSL. TFTC.
