This is the only runway with an ILS (Instrument Landing System) approach. This allows aircraft to descend down to much lower levels than other types of instrument approaches during periods of low visibility and/or low clouds. The runway also has High Intensity runway edge and approach lighting. The horizontal light bars that you can see are part of the High Intensity approach lights. Hint Comments
PLANNING
Today I set up a plan for 7 searches in the vicinity of the Lethbridge airport. All 7 geocaches were part of the CARL2 event in June. Two of the caches involved solving some form of puzzle in order to obtain the correct coordinates.
OUTCOME
This was my third search for the morning. The road was barely passible due to rain a week ago. I am not sure if the runway was under water or if this was an adjoining field.
