PLANNING
The sky was clear when I woke up and I set up a plan to search for 8 geocaches in southern Alberta. The overall plan was to form a loop beginning with highway 5 to Waterton and then back roads to Pincher Creek and then highway 3 back to Lethbridge, passing through Fort Macleod.
OUTCOME
This was the 5th cache on my list for today, but only my 4th search. When I drove up to the Good Friday (GC26CFT) cache area I discovered a ball game in progress by a large group of Hutterites. It looked like a scene for the 1800's with the ladies playing in their long dresses. There were about 30 people in the bleachers as well as the players on the field. Everyone was enjoying themselves. A real old-fashioned picnic. I loved it! But this was not the time for a search as GPS was indicating the cache was in the outfield. Even in military camouflage stealth was not going to work, so I drove on.
This cache site was thus my 4th search of the day. This time I had the area to myself, and I could see forever in all directions. The view of the mountains was spectacular. The search was straight forward and quick.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
Added this cache to a loopy plan and am glad I did. Longview indeed! TNLNSL. TFTC. Here are a few photos.
