Description

This cache is hidden near Pembina River provincial park campground which we visit frequently throughout the summer. It is a short hike from the campground, along the riverbank, to access the cache. There is basically no bushwhacking involved if you choose the right route, but there are some short steep hills along the trails. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ACCESS THIS CACHE FROM THE CAMPGROUND AND FOLLOW THE TRAIL ALONG THE RIVER. This will be much easier than any other way.

Hint

-This cache will "drive you crazy"!
-Don't use the same "Backroad" that was used here!! -"Paradise by (under) the dashboard lights!!"

PLANNING

We planned to visit a cemetery in the Barrhead area as part of some genealogical research. I made a route that would also include visits to 3 provincial parks where I identified a geocache that we could search for. This is part of my goal to eventually find caches in 60 provincial parks. I downloaded the cache coordinates for the 3 sites and was ready to go. This was the second search for the day.

OUTCOME

This turned out to be relatively straight forward. The trail was easy to locate and the walk along the Pembina river was pleasant. There was a constant sound of warblers in the trees but we were not able to identify them as they were moving too quickly to focus our binoculars on them. There were a couple of old car wrecks in the bushes as we approached the cache coordinates, about 500 meters from the trailhead, and with the aid of a flashlight were able to locate the cache.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

I assume the "hide" arrived from above. TNLNSL. TFTC.

another successful find

I am 2/2 for today. This was the 7th provincial park where I have found at least one cache.
