Description

This is a camo small lock-n-lock. Cache is hidden on Private property with the permission of the Navy League of Canada - Lethbridge Branch. Please be considerate of their generosity for allowing me to hide this cache as a tribute to the Canadian Navy. First to Find Prize is an Unactivated GeoCoin (contact me for activation code). Contains a log book, pencil and some trading items. Happy Hunting! Hidden as a tribute to the 100 year Anniversary of the Canadian Navy.

A 100 years ago on 4 May 10 the Canadian Navy was established. The Navy League of Canada Lethbridge Branch supports two cadets corps in the City. Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corp 34 Chinook is an organization based on Navel themes and traditions for youth ages 12 to 18. The Navy League Corp 50 Lethbridge is for youth ages 8 to 12. Chinook has operated as a youth organization in Lethbridge since 1937. Another historical fact is that the building and grounds has been deemed a historical site in Lethbridge so take a minute to appreciate a part of our culture. You can also google the cadet corps mentioned about to find out more information about them.

Hint When looking down, look up.

PLANNING

This cache has been out for a week. With the weather beginning to improve I decided to have a search for it while carrying out a few tasks on the other side of the river.

OUTCOME

My GPS unit clearly indicated that I should take a trip up an alley near the hospital and I was able to park only a few feet from the cache. Keeping the hint in mind I surveyed the area and quickly realized that the cache was likely under the small porch. And I was right. Total time: about 2 minutes.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

Stopped by on the way home. Took TB. SL. TFTC.

Here are a few photos:

Travel Bug

I retrieved the TB and will place it in another cache soon.A check of the information for this TB indicates that it has travelled just over 11,003 km since beginning in 2007.

I am 1/1 for today. That keeps my total of caches still to find in Lethbridge at zero.
