GC1TRK8 Flip for Baker N 49° 41.398 W 112° 48.098Difficulty 2; Terrain 1; size small; Creator: Team Um and her Grade 5 Class Date First Hidden: 6/15/2009 Date Last Found: 4/22/2010 LethbridgeDescription A small lock and lock camo taped container along the edge of Henderson Lake, along the walking path. The grade 5 class from Dorothy Dalgliesh School in Picture Butte has been using GPS all year and stopped to go caching at Henderson Lake as part of their year end field trip. They brought the grade 5 class from R.I. Baker in Coaldale with them and we put this cache in place in their honour. Flip, the Dorothy Dalgliesh Dolphin school mascot, puts this cache near the water for the students of Baker! Hint With your back facing the lake it is to the left of the tree, down in the rocks, closer to the path than the lake. Comments
PLANNING
It has been a good day: the morning Event and then the successful find of a cache that I had avoided since I began geocaching. Why not go for the remaining cache in Lethbridge that I had yet to find? I tried this one last year but was overwhelmed with the number of potential hiding places. There was a recent note posted giving more accurate coordinates as well as a fairly detailed hint. Off I go ...
OUTCOME
This turned out to be an easy find. The hint made all the difference. But I then had to wait almost half an hour to replace the cache as a group of children decided to play right beside the area where the cache had been hidden.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
4:00 PM Thank you for the hint. It helped focus my way among the rocks. TNLNSL. TFTC. A nice follow-up to the "10 Years! Lethbridge Alberta" event. Here are a few photos:
