PLANNING
This morning I planned to attend a photography field trip in the Crowsnest Pass. I then thought I would try to combine this with some geocaching in the same area. There are a number of new caches in this area and since it is almost an hour and a half drive to get here, I wanted to make the most of the trip. This time I was going to focus on the Bellevue area. I am slowly working my west through the Pass. Since I had no sense of how long the photography field trip would last, I decided to make notes for only 4 caches in the immediate vicinity of the field trip.
OUTCOME
The photography field trip took a break at noon for lunch. I decided to leave the group at that point and spend the afternoon geocaching. This was my 4th search. Time of find: 2:10 PM.
I decided to park in a large parking area about 400 yards from the cache area as I did not want to park on the side of the highway. There is a good path along the Crowsnest River. My GPS indicated that the cache was on the other side of the stream so I walked up to the bridge, crossed over, and then came back a short way to where 3 vehicles were parked. From there I could see a small rock wall on the hillside. As I approached it I noticed that the rocks at the near end were a different color and when I lifted the top rock I could see the cache container. A quick find. I enjoyed the walk - very relaxing with the water beside me.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
The cache is high and dry and in good shape. Good view from the area. TNLNSL. TFTC. Here are a few photos:

I am now 4/4 for today.
