Description BYOP as this is a micro. It will be found at the location where Gold Creek flows into the Crowsnest River. This is a popular fishing and swimming spot in the summer, so watch out for muggles. Just across the river you will notice pilings from a bridge used by the mine which was buried under the Frank Slide in 1903. To the east of this location is the edge of the slide. Enjoy the scenery!
Hint Willow it matter to you if I give you a hint?

PLANNING

I created a plan for searching for 7 geocaches in the Hillcrest/Bellevue area of the Crossnest Pass. Looking at the descriptions for these caches I sensed there would be both some hiking as well as some difficult searches as there were a number of micro-sized caches in the group. I figured 7 searches would take much of the day and I was not too confident of finding all of them. On the other hand this is a beautiful part of the province and I enjoy being among the mountains at any time. The weather forecast was for sunshine but with some wind.

I was taking my sling pack as well as my Panasonic DMC-ZS3 camera. I am still trying to develop, and stick to, a more rigorous routine of keeping track of the timing of each search plus taking more photos of the search.

OUTCOME

This was the third search in my plan to look for 7 geocaches. I left the truck at 11:20 am and returned at 11:57 am. I was fairly sure I had the right group of willows but was not able to spot the container. On the way back I tripped over some hidden wire and did a good job on one of my shins.

Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:

I searched a few willows without success. But still a great day for being in the woods.

Once again, I forgot to take any photos of a DNF search. I blame it on the weather - it was bitterly windy and cold and my top priority was simply to return to the truck. I really must remember to do better. Also if I take a number of photos of the cache area I may be able to see the container in one of them. This principle works well when bird watching.

I am now 3/4 for today.
