GC10PE0 Down the Aisle N 53° 29.103 W 113° 39.416Difficulty 1.5; Terrain 2; size regular. Creator: grandpaloren Date First Hidden: 2/1/2007 Date Last Found: 2/3/2010 EdmontonDescription This is another west end cache planted for the Edmonton Cache and Release Winter 2007 cache event in the 24-hour period between 5:30 P.M. February 16 and 5:30 P.M. February 17. There is a nice aisle here between two rows of trees with easy access via a public walkway. The hardest part may be finding the walkway since many of the streets in this area are winding. As required by the CARW2007 rules, this is a regular cache in a spruce tree. You’re looking for a camouflaged Lock & Lock container with the usual swag and a logbook. Please note the time of day when you sign the log so other CARW2007 participants can see how far behind they are to other geocachers. Also, please replace the cache where you found it. Have fun and we hope to see you on the trails.
Hint About five feet up. Comments
PLANNING
I picked up a geocoin a few days ago and wanted to place it in another cache as soon as possible. Since we were planning on a trip to Edmonton this seemed like a good opportunity to move the geocoin a substantial distance.
This morning I looked at the geocaching.com map for the vicinity where we were staying and identified 3 caches within walking distance. One of these was a micro which would not be able to accomodate the geocoin. I decided to try for this cache as my top priority was to move the geocoin along.
OUTCOME
The temperature was about -10 C, but there was little wind and the walk of about a mile was quite enjoyable. I knew that I was near a Tim Hortons so the cool temperature was not a concern.
Here is my posting to the geocaching.com website:
A nice cache in a nice location. TN, left geocoin, SL TFTC. Winter friendly.
Here are a few photos:
