Earth

Another couple of billion years pass since the supernova that created the remaining elements of the present universe. Millions of galaxies and billions of stars have been created.

One such new star is created by the gradual coalescing of matter on the edge of a galaxy. The matter around this new star also begins to coalesce forming a number of  planets.

We shall zoom in on the third planet from the sun.

We didn't always look this way.

First, we were just a very hot mass of molten material. Then we began to cool.

Later came the formation of an atmosphere and of water and then oceans.

The land itself began to move along huge tectonic plates. From an original continent (Pangaea) we drifted to our present configuration. However at the same time that the land was moving (and is continuing to move) life was beginning to appear on these land masses.

We need to keep track of both time and space simultaneously. The questions of when and where are bound together.
