A. Morning Musings

5:45 am It is + 13 C at the moment, with a forecast high of + 29 C.

Saturday, a clear sky and a forecast for another week of sunny weather. Saturday mornings are for reviewing the accomplishments of the week.

Chores: We think we have completed the appropriate forms for my pension, health coverage and income tax. I took the cement blocks in the lane to a landfill, thus finishing the last task that was part of the 'replace front sidewalk with patio bricks' project. I have repaired the cracks in the cement floor of the garage and have built 3 book boxes and applied the primer coat of paint. A very good week for household chores. I continue to add new items to the list as I complete other items. I have now added the edging of the front lawn against the sidewalk to my list. I will wait until early in the week when I should be able to borrow a wheelbarrow to load away the sod. These items are still my first priority, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel when they will be complete and the entire day will be devoted to R&R (reading and recreation).

Model Trains: I have the necessary supplies for beginning the wiring of the layout, but have yet to begin this activity. I have a base for the oil refinery diorama and should begin the last phase of creating a berm around the two oil tanks and setting up the piping for the connections between the tanks, the refinery and the oil loading platform.

Literature: I have read the first 2 sections of the second volume of "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever" and am part way through the last section.

Overall, chores and life-related activities have been the focus of the week with substantial progress to show for it. Learning and hobby activities have been light this week. The weather has been fantastic - nothing but clear skies, no wind and high temperatures.
